the fun thing about the Mississippi election map is you can see the two state colleges (Ole Miss in Lafayette, Mississippi State in Oktibbeha) and the surrounding counties flipping much bluer. Edpol is coming for Mississippi republicans.

Lafayette County, the home of Ole Miss, is interesting too. While Oktibbeha sometimes goes blue, Lafayette is a reliable red county. This is absolutely a reflection of the differences in the university cultures - State is a more working class, ag/mech school, Ole Miss is notoriously old money

Not as an apology for Oxford cause they need to be smarter, but I'm guessing these are county stats. Lafayette has more wealthy old republicans retiring there than are to Oktibbeha in my experience. Like Colom won Lafayette, but it went to GOP in MS-1
