"SQL will finally allow non-programmers to query databases!" -> dedicated DB Engineers

"LabVIEW will finally allow non-programmers to do signal processing and machine automation!" -> dedicated LabVIEW programmers

"AI will finally allow non-programmers to write code!" -> prompt "engineering"

This has strong "How do you do fellow kids..." vibes.

LabView is like Vegemite - you have to start them young or they won't grow up with the taste for it.
I have a young observing assistant at the moment. 🔭 🤩

There's a fair number of LabVIEW devs on BlueSky now, must be time for a Starter Pack

My marketable skills include having done way too much Labview for someone who isn't NI Certified.

I realize I never dropped back in on my "introduction posts" to say that the Open Source toolkit that provides a native webcam driver for LabVIEW and makes building Augmented Reality applications about 9000 lines of C++ easier is released and available here!

Use of TOFSim, a LabView-Based Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer Simulation, to Model Real Instrument Data
It is demonstrated here that a recently published LabView-based time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOFMS) simulation program (named TOFSim) can accurately simulate data collected on a commercial Bruker...

Reminds me of “LabVIEW - programming optional”
I was having a chat with students on Friday about the “Python is easy” phrase you sometimes hear.

Whoever says that either:
Doesn’t know Python
or
They really mean “Python is easier than other languages”

Programming is hard. In any language.

@ai6yr Ha, Ha, Ha… Somewhat interested to see how vibe-coding a LabVIEW program would turn out. Spaghetti wires everywhere! 😜

Oh hey, my first LabVIEW program!
Insert your programming metaphor here.

I still think it's really funny that the mindstorms software was just a skin over labview, and the hardware was compatible with actual base labview

Laser safety design requires rethinking most everything in your space, *especially* the colors used for control interfaces. The Labview panel you programmed in your office doesn't look the same in the lab.

On a related note, after a quarter century of using LabVIEW, even in other programming languages my brain still "sees" different data types as different colors (ints are blue, floats are orange, strings are pink...)

I do not enjoy LabVIEW. I can not use LabVIEW. And yet, here I am, trying to connect up my silly little temperature monitors to LabVIEW. Send help and maybe snacks.
