This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits was too good to pass up - cardigans are my favorite and this is my most worn. I chose this pattern for the lace raglans and underarm detail - anything with lace detail ends up on my radar and this was so unique.

Chapter 11: Mask Maker, Mask Maker, Make Me A Mask

A multi-panel black and white comic featuring the Mask Maker from Hollow Knight and Lace and Phantom from Hollow Knight Silksong. Lace informs the Mask Maker that she doesn't believe herself capable of fitting any mask, citing Phantom's ultimate fate (and implying that Lace had been the one to fetch their mask in the first place in a failed attempt to avert that end). The Mask Maker states that Lace was failed, and that he sees in her the potential for growth and change. Lace rejects this, stating that she is only capable of decay. Lace: I doubt you could recommend any better; I was intended for no identity beyond my creator’s. Mask Maker: I see… you have been failed, then. Lace: Not I, but one alike. The mask I fetched them did not prevent their unraveling. Mask Maker: It grieves me to learn, but the mask was not to what I referred. Mask Maker: To be denied such that you believe you lack the capacity to change… you have been failed Old One. Lace: Ahahaha! Showing deference despite first naming me a child… How gauche. Whatever godhood you perceive is but my mother’s fading light. Mask Maker: Not divinity, but life in abundance, and with it great potential for growth. Lace: there is no growth for one such as I… only decay. A multi-panel black and white comic featuring Hornet and the Mask Maker from Hollow Knight and Lace from Hollow Knight Silksong. Lace's conversation with the Mask Maker is interrupted by Hornet's return. Hornet declares that she will use the Needolin to summon her sibling's echoes, calling the melody the Requiem for Remembrance. She asks the Mask Maker to offer the first of these echoes, and as the song plays, snippets of conversation from the first game can be heard. Mask Maker: Ah… I sense a clarity of vision. Hornet: Indeed. A melody I shall give to attune my soul and call forth their missing pieces– A Requiem for Remembrance. Hornet: You keep many memories, as Maker of Masks. Will you share with me their echo? Mask Maker: It would be an honor. Echoes [Mask Maker]: Does it know of the face that hides beneath? Such remarkable contrast the Wyrm conceived. I see another takes the mantle of king? then grim responsibility that shall bestow. Has it witnessed that truth most tragic? A multi-panel black and white comic featuring Hornet and the Mask Maker from Hollow Knight and Lace from Hollow Knight Silksong. As the requiem winds down, ghostly images of the Mask Maker's interactions with Ghost appear. A single key phrase emerges: Not task for I, but aid, gift to a world deserving. Afterwards, Hornet thanks the Mask Maker, but he has already donned a new mask and is lost to his ramblings once more. Hornet turns to leave, but is startled when Lace corrects her and demands Hornet refer to her by her name. Hornet recovers quickly, stating that there is work to be done, and departing. Echoes [Mask Maker]: Not task for I, but aid, gift to a world deserving. Hornet: Ithank you for your service, Mask Maker. come, child. Lace: Lace. Hornet: Come, Lace. there is work still left to do.
