Commissioners reported that several municipalities have taken first readings or adopted the Route 2 maintenance and lighting contract, with Mentor adopting it and other cities advancing to first readings; members stressed urgency to put the project out to bid to restore lights on Route 2.

Sean Heap, an AT&T employee and union organizer from Clear Lake, told the board subcontractors are installing fiber near 12 kV power lines with inadequate traffic control and said he would share San Diego model legislation to address the problem.
