The upper two-thirds of the frame is dominated by a dramatic sky — dark, heavy clouds lit from below in deep salmon and coral, with a vivid red-orange flare burning at the far left edge. The light is violent and warm against a cold blue upper sky. Below, the partially frozen lake reflects none of that warmth, lying flat and pale blue-grey between a dark treeline in the foreground and snow-dusted mountain ridges in the middle distance. The mountains dissolve into the cloud base, their edges soft and indistinct. This capture of #Breckenridge #Colorado was taken from #SapphirePoint trail with #LakeDillon in the foreground Sunday night. It was 7 degrees that night and I learned that I need better gloves. Gonna order some rn.
