I grew up in a town that went for Barry Goldwater in 1964 and had John Birch society chapters. It was rife with conspiracy theories: JFK as agent for the Vatican, LBJ as 'Landside Lyndon' (and worse) etc.
But Fox et al have empowered something new.

I've said this before, but one of the more striking things about the current generation of righties is that they really show no sign of understanding that there's a world *beyond* their screens, beyond owning & being owned on social media. A real world, with real people & real problems.

There's a plausible scenario, maybe the most likely one, where Dems win in a landside in November with this fact used to retroactively claim their strategy of relative inaction was brilliant even though that's just the opposition party winning a midterm while the President is deeply unpopular.

My favourite thing is that he went through security, transferred landside, queued for a paper ticket rather than just using contactless, went back through security, was kindly allowed to jump the queue, nevertheless managed to make his flight, and yet somehow this demonstrates that the UK is broken.
