Hundreds of residents urged Lane County to accept Local Access Roads (LARs) into the county-maintained system, citing equity and liability concerns. Separately, tourism, hospitality and business groups urged commissioners to preserve the 2% transient lodging tax (TLT) reserves for intended tourism infrastructure as the board and staff debated using roughly $6.5 million of those reserves to bridge rural patrol funding and courthouse planning.

During public comment multiple residents pressed the county on orphan local access roads (95% petition support claimed), criticized navigation‑center costs and neighborhood impacts, and urged the board to adopt a resolution condemning ICE tactics; speakers also raised a university history dispute.
