Sales guys are taught to use a very effective technique called "pacing and leading" to persuade people. First you "pace" — you match the prospect, copy their tone, their language, even match stuff like posture and body language. Agree with whatever they say and mirror the langauge back to them.
The politics of data centers are insane because progressives have all convinced each other that it’s driven by public hatred of AI and tech capitalism.
Then you talk to the actual people worked up about it and it’s straight NIMBYism driven by myths about water use plus 5G-style conspiracy theories

I’ve been saying this for most of my adult life — I don’t know why we put so much weight during political campaigns on candidate debates. I was a competitive debater when I was young, & altho I value those skills, they don’t overlap with the knowledge and skills I want in good leaders and governors.
