Lemme tell ya why I'm excited about this. You may not recognize the name/face, but Lani Hall was the dulcet voice of Sergio Mendes' Brasil '66; she took them from cool to super-cool. Oh, she also married some rando named Herb Alpert, still going strong after 50 yrs.

#NowSpinning: This crew makes some of my favorite jams, their music establishes a wonderful vibe. Lani Hall's voice is irresistible, so much so that Herb Alpert locked it down while producing their music on A&M Records. Here's to you, Lani!🥂

#NowSpinning: Lani, if you're unfamiliar, is arguably the best part of Sergio Mendes' backing band Brasil '66. At least Herb Alpert thought so; he married her over 50 years ago and they are STILL going strong. Their daughter is named Aria, how cool is that?
