Fadnavis visited drought-hit areas of Latur in Marathwada to inspect crop damage and meet farmers affected by the prolonged dry spell.

Latur, Sep 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said the Maharashtra government will issue a Government Resolution (GR) on the drought situation within the next two days and declare blanket aid for farmers. Speaking to reporters after visiting Kharosa village in Latur district, the Chief Minister clarified that crop damage assessments (panchnamas) are being conducted solely because they are legally mandated. "The government has no intention of getting farmers entangled in administrative delays. The financial aid will be extended universally," he assured, adding that the state stands firmly behind farmers by considering damage to both Kharif and Rabi seasons.

Latur, Sep 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) In the wake of an intensifying drought across the state caused by a complete absence of rainfall over the last six weeks, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday visited ground zero in Latur from the Marathwada region to inspect crop damage and interact directly with affected farmers. Addressing the media from the fields, the Chief Minister pledged that a lack of funds would not be allowed to impede drought relief measures. With prolonged dry spells causing widespread crop failures, farmers in Marathwada have been facing acute shortages of drinking water and livestock fodder, prompting urgent demands for immediate financial assistance and an official drought declaration.
