A bountiful and inspiring day with some of the most thorough scholars of history who are also fully engaged in the present. They are excellent human beings.

Down in SLC for the Claudia Bushman festchrift. Just heard Judy Dushku use the analogy of 10yo girl discovering s e x on how once you discover a feminist lens it’s how you see the world from then on. I may have made my loud barking-laugh that only jumps out when I’m surprised

Finished this a few days ago, a great summer read. "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon. Laurel Thatcher Ulrich also wrote a book based on the actual diary of Martha Ballard of Maine--a real-life midwife from the 1790's. "A Midwife's Tale." #ariellawhon #marthaballard #laurelthatcherulrich
