Mitte et ma oleks kunagi Hotell Olümpia peatuses bussi peale läinud, aga just mõni nädal tagasi tutvustasin seal lapsega jalutades talle kolme eri kohas asuvat peatust nimega Hotell Olümpia.

Hobuseid vaatasime loomulikult ka. Olid alles
Teavitus Tallinna ühistranspordi peatuste nimede muutumisest alates 25. augustist. Juhkentali tänaval nimetatakse „Hotell Olümpia“ peatus ümber „Ravi“ peatuseks ning Liivalaia tänaval „Lennuki“ peatuseks. Lauteri tänaval jääb peatuse nimeks „Hotell Olümpia“.

Farm name. The ‘Val’ is said to relate to #valgma, a place for berthing boats between lines of rocks extending into the sea (see Lauteri A.) but at 2 km from the coast that’s a bit of a stretch. Prob. a farm dependency along the lines of, e.g. Fahl’s/Wahl’s Gut.

NB: whereas #süda, heart, declines normally as #süda:südame, for the person’s name it is #Süda:Süda. Odd, but why not (see, for example, #Lauteri A.)? His grandpaternal uncle was called Peter #Südda. Odd, why?

it seems that the genitive of personal names tend to try to retain as much of the nominative as possible, perhaps to de-signify the root word (see, for example, Süda P.).
