I can't imagine what it's like being a constitutional law, American history, international relations, public health or economics professor right now

Attempting to criminalize the actions of an independent public servant, Fed Chair Jay Powell, for the sin of acting independently is an outrage. It's bad economics, bad politics, bad for the rule of law, bad for the public sector, bad for American credibility and bad for Americans.

good to watch. but there's one part in here that most will probably overlook. stability, the constitution and the rule of law are magnets for capital. an elemental observation that's at the root of basically every study of economics and capitalism.
A top economics reporter goes off script on national TV: “I am going to say this at risk of my job, but what President Trump is doing is insane.”

Going for an “any time” train ticket because understanding what constitutes “off peak” requires an expert knowledge of advanced calculus, economics, law and philosophy.

Law AND Economics? In this rate environment??
August 3, 2024 at 2:51 PM
and then there's the faintly artificial ascendancy of law & economics in law schools. so many examples, so little time. the reason academia is full of left-leaning people is that the american right has been intellectually bankrupt for generations

Equal justice under the law lives somewhere between "the Tooth Fairy and trickle-down economics."

Give me the confidence of a MAGAt operating at a 4th-grade reading level while claiming to be an expert on science, economics, and constitutional law.

I went to graduate school in economics. I never call myself "an economist."

Oren Cass, who went to law school, does.

Another Yale Law School of Economics banger
this is explicitly an argument for collectivism; that private business must be forced to put [thing that the government has decided is more important] over their own interests. the CCP has the *exact same policy*

Harris: double majored in economics and political science. Let's not forget her law degree

This is how politics appears if you ignore economics, law, mass media, geography and demography
Opinion: The past decade was a masterclass in how to misread a nation. If Sir Keir Starmer doesn’t want to gift Britain to Reform, he needs to prove fast that he can be tough and effective on immigration on.ft.com/47dejup

Senator, do you believe in trickle down economics? Republicans being the party of fiscal responsibility? How about law and order? Do you believe Trump won in 2020?

The Federalist Society and Law & Economics courses ought to be ousted from law schools.

Just saying.

Important to watch. The move against Powell is a move against the dollar, the US economy, sound economics, the rule of law and America’s standing in the world. It is a disaster. As markets will show soon.
Jerome Powell: "This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation."

“Bilingual in law and economics” at this point to me sounds like a way to describe exactly this person.
Former George Mason lawprof Joshua Wright is not only a sex pest but was completely on the take from Google and other corporate clients, WSJ reports.
