It had only been one week since Maicie had joined le cirque of Dawn and she was already running late! In her defense, the Ruffling rescues had played a role in that – she couldn’t resist their puppy eyes! Now, she was rushing through the tent’s backstage area, dust floating through the air, until she reached the chair circle Aldous was speaking to. She scanned the space, looking for a seat to sneak into, when her eyes fell on the Strongman who was looking at her, patting the empty bench beside him. She let out a relieved breath and sat down.
