well, guess no composite here unless you grind down the VDP plastic to get to the leadframe... here's my results on an M1VA3 pre/post bypass, using the relief board. It's 4BP, but the RGB results should be generally the same when done properly.

I wondered about that. I'd seen one of those dumb engagement bait videos where someone ablates away a ram chip in that (SOIC-??) package with a laser and it looks as if the entire leadframe converges to a single line of wire bonds but you never really get to see the die. Pads may just be on one side

Curious. Another data point ... The stripes were applied after the plastic body was molded around the die (obviously), but BEFORE the part was punched out of the leadframe. Maybe something to do with the packaging process?
