When you visit one of Europe longest running landslides and find that Odin's Mine, the possible #Roman, but definitely Medieval #leadmining is right next to it. One item off my bucket list.

Impromptu evening wander revealed a rich leadmining history with a Cornish twist, alpine pansies and spring sandwort which love lead, tales of murder, a curse ....all topped off with a pint of Moonshine....Abbeydale, not homebrew!

There are many peculiar names for lead mines in Derbyshire, this map shows some of the mines in Eyam in 1869, including Rakey Pingle, Nut Scrin and Wonder Scrin (scrin refers to a vein of lead) - it doesn't show Have-it-all or Who-can-tell mines (also in Eyam).

Also worked in special education but for 25 yrs off & on (having kids & working in a leadmining museum in between). Loved writing sensory dramas to bring aspects of the National Curriculum alive. My retelling of the Odyssey was something else.
