Water/wastewater superintendent Bradley Vic told the Utility Advisory Board the Consumer Confidence Report shows no current detections of lead, and the city must inventory an estimated 1,300–1,500 unknown service lines by July 1, 2027, under EPA and Wisconsin DNR rules.

Residents reported months‑late and unusually large water bills at the Jan. 20 council meeting. Mayor Nolan and city staff said a migration to a new $6 million billing system caused data errors; the council approved actions related to a drinking water revolving fund loan and scheduled a public town hall for Jan. 22 to address accounts and lead testing.

The Hinsdale Board of Trustees approved an ordinance increasing the village's infrastructure maintenance fee to $30 per bi-monthly bill and raised unit water rates to fund roughly $17 million in water projects and preparations for a state-mandated lead-service replacement program.

Governor Hochul announced $269 million was made available to help communities across the State affordably undertake water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects.
