Ipomoea obscura, the obscure morning glory or small white morning glory, is a species of the genus Ipomoea. Leucaena leucocephala is a small fast-growing mimosoid tree native to southern Mexico and northern Central America and is now naturalized throughout the tropics including parts of Asia. Common names include jumbay, pearl wattle, white leadtree, river tamarind, ipil-ipil, tan-tan, and white popinac.

A little late, but today’s Bug Walk excerpts! Check alt text for descriptions of what everything is :3 Let me know if yall want pictures of anything in particular on future Bug Walks or have outfit suggestions !! Usually I see more critters but they were elusive today.
A picture of a giant spiderwort (a purple flower with three petals in a triangular arrangement with purple stamens tipped with yellow pollen) A blooming branch of a goldenball leadtree. The blossoms look like little yellow pompoms when in full bloom. Some are immature and still green and more spiky looking rather than soft and fluffy. The leaves are compound leaves with multiple ovoid leaves attached to a central stem. In focus is the tip of a blossoming Mexican plum tree. The blossoms are small and clustered together. They’re white with five petals each and with multiple stamens coming from the center, each dusted at the tip with yellow pollen. The background is composed of out of focus blurred trees. A cool karst rock I came across! It looks almost like a paper wasp nest or honeycomb in a way. It’s a sandy colored limestone rock with holes that are carved out over time when carbonic acid carried in rain falls down on these alkaline rocks. Cool stuff!

היום לקחתי יום חופש כי הגעתי למכסת השעות וחבל היה לי לא להמשיך ולצבור שעות חופשה. פצחתי את הבוקר בהתנדבות בארגון שתורם עצים לתושבי אוסטין. ליטפתי עצי תאנה רכים, שתלתי זרעי goldenball leadtree ותיחחתי אדמה כל הבוקר וזה היה נהדר ומספק עד מאד, ובעיקר מרגיע ממש. פגשתי אחלה אנשים אז זה בונוס נחמד.
בייבי תאנים! הזרעים נבטו ומוכנים לשתילה
