Made the mistake of buying carbonated water at the vending machine. Slowly shook and opened repeatedly until I deemed it sufficiently degassed. Started adding a hydration packet and a little carbonated fountain started erupting as I frantically tried to screw on the lid

Made the mistake of buying carbonated water at the vending machine. Slowly shook and opened repeatedly until I deemed it sufficiently degassed. Started adding a hydration packet and a little carbonated fountain started erupting as I frantically tried to screw on the lid

My bet is this happened as I did not poke the fat pockets to release the rendering fat, and it all spilled out and caused a huge flare up on the grill. Unlike the last one.

Giving feedback can be hard. We avoid it to save ourselves discomfort and to avoid upsetting others. Not tackling the problem leads to frustration and can escalate to formal measures. Early feedback, though difficult, allows people to improve.

We might minimise the error to avoid upset. But being nice in this way isn't helpful. It stops learning from the mistakes. You can be kind and still provide useful, difficult feedback.
