Like LeaveUK, what drives Republican voters isn’t policies, or a coherent concern about the other choice.

It’s nationalism. Nationalism encourages voters to look past policies, and choices, and to identify with (and thus vote for) an imaginary world.

This has a precedent. In 2016 hundreds of thousands of pounds of funding for LeaveUK was tracked by the Sunday Times from Moscow via the Middle East which ended up as a “legal” contribution from a Belfast firm with no employees or premises. The company was dissolved after the payment was made.

To be fair to Farage (I know, I know) he had abandoned that position by the time of the Ref, but he hadn't abandoned the points-based immigration policy. And not sure if it was VL or LeaveUK, but one of them made a big thing of how non-EU immigrants' families wld benefit from Brexit

And if you are #Labour in #Scotland, dont miss the point. Leave the #UK and have #Scottish #Labour.
