Lego brick frm the Great Lego Spill 1997, washed ashore after 27 year voyage along the sea floor. One of 520, 541 green slope bricks that fell into the ocean frm the Tokio Express. Still washing up, nearly three decades on. Found a few days ago on the north coast of Cornwall.

On the strandline tonight a little Lego life jacket, one of 26,600 lost overboard from the cargo ship Tokio Express on 13th February 1997. Nearly 28 years on, and still turning up. #oceanplastic

We were standing in the sea today, picking plastic out of the water, when this Lego brick from the spill drifted past, finally washed ashore after 28 years at the bottom of the ocean.

Smartie lid, washed up with seaweed frm the seabed today, is between 53 & 64 years old. Plastic Smartie lids were first introduced in 1960. Early Smartie lids had capital letters & numbers on the reverse, in 1971, were replaced with lower case letters. (LegoLostAtSea)

Yesterday's walk from #Marazion to #Penzance. An upsetting amount of plastic debris all along the beach. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do a #beachclean today. On a happier note I did find a lego flower to add to my little #Legolostatsea collection.
