The nice thing about being from Leith is I can say I'm a Leither, which sounds much better than Edinburgher.

I'm still numb from losing Coco on Monday, but wanted to share my recent Leither article celebrating her life: www.theleithermagazine.com/leither/172/...

I managed to pick up copies of The Skinny, The List, The Edinburgh Reporter and The Leither today.

Other highlights included The Edinburgh Community Bookshop, Great Junction Street.

It was too cold for stravaiging but I had a nice day.

Sadly, I now really want a Star Wars with an Irvine Welsh script and characters like Princess Leither and Chewbaccy.

"We call him Luke Skywalker nae cos he's always tripped on drugs but because he's a proper careless fucker and falls doon a lot. We used tae call him Luke Out."

Terrific. As an adopted Leither, I was (I think blissfully) unaware of this utter doggerel.

I remember a line about how terrible it was for a Leither to be marooned, thinking “who outside of Scotland will get how clever that line is?”

Dean Owens, our favourite Leither is back, this time embroidering his wares with some well heeled Italianana; spaghetti (country and) western, maybe, for an album better than that pun.

This movie has been such a monumental part of my life, as a longtime Leither & an 80's kid.
It always feels like revisiting an old mate whenever I watch it or, the sequel. 🥲 #FilmSky #Trainspotting
Director Danny Boyle’s dark dramedy ‘Trainspotting’ starring Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremmer, Jonny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd, Kelly Macdonald, and Robert Carlyle opened in select theaters in North America this week in 1996 💉 🚽 🍼 #OTD

2/2 My Dad served in the RCAF and was stationed mainly in the UK. Fortunately, for me, he came to Edinburgh on leave and met my ‘Leither’ mother at the foot of Lothian Road, on a blind date. And that’s essentially where my life started. Having a Scottish mother enabled me to live & work here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 😊

I'm an immigrant. In the past 12 years I had only one person saying such a thing (and it was more about calling myself a 'Leither', less about me being a Scot).

Every 'born' Scot welcomed me and said exactly what you did.
It's wonderful to see and feel the people's support.
