A brief reflection of Alessandra's first impression of Leliana, and her love
Alessandra never believed she would truly fall in love, though she always dreamed of it. Leliana came into her life when she was already at her lowest. After she had lost everything. Actually, no, it was the other way around: she came into Leliana's life when she fell from an apple tree while trying to reach for an apple and the branch she stood on gave way, right into Leliana's lap. She didn't know what to make of this strange Chantry Sister, her soft Orlesian accent, or her charitable kindness. She didn't even know why she agreed to let her join up with them. And she was quite distant, at first. Cordial, at best, and abrasive at worst. Alessandra was very much out of her element, surrounded by humans, and far, far from home. Of course, Leliana was not deterred; hardly. "I have seen the worst that Thedas has to offer, Alessandra. You could never scare me away." Leliana's love was like a warm evening breeze. Subtle, gentle, never demanding, a presence you don't even realize is there until you notice it. It's difficult to say how or why it happened, only that it did, seeping in through the cracks in her armor until it filled the empty space completely. Her heart thrums a melody only she can feel whenever Leliana is near; she is her Heartsong.

#WIPWednesday I didn't write a lot today so have something from the previous writing session.

Leliana breathed out something in Orlesian that, judging by her tone, Alyss presumed to be a curse. "That was inconsiderate of me, I'm sorry." "Bit hard to consider anything when you're unconscious," Alyss pointed out. "There's nothing to apologize for. I came here for some peace and quiet after all…" she vaguely gestured in the direction of where demon Connor had been last they'd seen him. "…that. And save for a little bit of snoring you being here did nothing to disrupt that." "Excuse me?" Leliana asked, shooting Alyss a reprimanding glare, her tone almost forcibly indignant. "I do not snore." Alyss grinned, satisfied that her teasing was having the desired effect. "You absolutely do. I heard you." "No, I do n—" Leliana cut herself off with a groan. "You're trying to rile me up." "Me? Never." "Alyss," Leliana scolded, though unable to hold the sternness in her voice. "What? Don't tell me it's working," Alyss teased. "At least make me work for it a bit more, yeah?"
