Leston won the 1954 British 500cc F3 championship. He drove for Connaught, and BRM, in 2 GPs during 1956-1957. Leston was class B British saloon car champion in 1959, driving a Riley 1.5, and British GT champion in 1961, driving a Lotus Elite.

Not normally a big fan of wood steering wheels, but they’re doing a Les Leston Monte Carlo continuation and I’m strongly tempted. My dad also had a Les Leston on his MG back in the 60’s so this has some sentimental value for me.

MGB 2025 projects done (hopefully 🙃): new water pump, cool retro-style silicone hoses, and did a better mounting for the copper heater return line. Also have a new thottle linkage for the Weber. The fabulous Les Leston wheel went on over the winter.
