Things I have noticed about my ships in Once Upon a Witchlight and Edge of Midnight: One is the married couple ready to kill for each other but also EXTREMELY deep in denial about their feelings for one another. The other is the introvert/extrovert "best friend" duo that lose braincells whenever they're in close proximity of each other (also one of them is British). This will now haunt me forever 😃

Lethica and Marius are t4t because all good "straight" ships just have that vibe /hj (Slight EoM finally Spoilers) Honestly, I think these two are two sides of the same transgender experience coin. That being that one of them is just going through it(TM) and the other is slowly blossoming into themselves. Both are going through absolutely shitty situations and are handling it the best they can. I know a lot of people headcanon Marius as a trans woman (which is like really awesome and cool) but to me he gives trans man vibes with TONS of religious guilt attached to it. He's so desperate to prove himself as a "real" man which is why he self appointed himself as the savior archetype. Because what has society always told us men do? They protect and save the weak, and as a knight it is basically his sworn duty to do so. He idolizes the chivalry of knighthood, how it is a symbol of good and justice. But the pressures of society have pushed him into this masochist mindset of what a "real" man should do, which is to take the brunt of every burden without complaint. Pile that on with the rigid rules and expectations of he religion and it's no wonder this poor guy is so high strung all the time. The vampirism was basically his 13th reason why at that point, so of course he crashed out by the end of it. Despite all her secrets, Lethica, to me, seems like a very straightforward and self assured person. There is a certain confidence and cunning one must have to be a woman, especially when navigating such a dangerous life as she does. Perhaps the one thing she could control about her life is how she presented herself and she takes great pride in that. The careful construction of her appearance is a way of taking back autonomy while still fooling Shar of her complacency. Her need for control is a coping mechanism for the situation she's in but also reflects a lot of the queer experience. Society has pressured many queer people into silence, causing them to live in secrecy for fear of punishment. The one freedom we did have was fashion, which was sometimes so impactful it changed the rest of society. Lethica uses fashion/her appearance as a weapon to fool a god, and once she's free from that burden she shines even brighter than ever before. Anyways, they're both t4t in the same way I think Gomaz and Morticia Addams are t4t 🥰

I'm thinking of disgusting lovey-dovey Lethicus headcanons based on the fic I wrote of which I am now dubbing The Eclipsed Lovers AU because I'm sick in the head and these dorks make me feral *Paladins don't necessarily have to vow themselves to a god just to something they believe in so in my AU Marius is following a wishy-washy vision of the path of devotion and since Lethica is a priestess of Stryga he technically gains divinity from that god, but his main oath is to Lethica. (don't think about it too much 😅) *Marius writes poetry, mostly love poems about Lethica. He doesn't think any of them are good and is very embarrassed by it. Lethica absolutely adores every one of them. *Lethica loves reading romance novels and is absolutely giddy about the fact that Marius behaves almost exactly like the characters in her books without even releasing it. *They can sit in absolute comfortable silence with each other for hours *On the flip side they can also devolve into a cheesy mess of flirting for hours as well *If Marius has to be away from Lethica for more than 30 minutes he's going to be a pathetic puppy dog about it *Lethica only seems normal about it because she has a mask and talks so monotone. In reality she's extra wistful about everything, as if Marius ran off to war for a hundred years. *God forbid you witness them say goodbye to each other. You'd think they'd never see each other again with how dramatic they act. *Marius gets flustered more easily while Lethica is a lot more giggley *Anytime Marius comes across flowers he picks a few to give to Lethica *Lethica always makes sure to give Marius a lot of praise because gods know her poor knight deserves it *Their PDA is horrendous 😖 they are holding hands every chance they get *For the safety of your sanity and everyone else is it recommended you knock before entering any room these two are in alone *Marius has definitely come out of a room covered in lipstick marks *Lethica has written different variations of "Mrs. Lethica Renathyr" and "Mr. Marius Nightborne" on several dozen pieces of paper *I honestly don't think they ever leave the honeymoon phase 😅 they just get worse *They are basically Gomez and Morticia Addams to me 🫠

I just got done watching ep 25 of EoM and that scene where Philip goes god mode and raises an army of the dead to save his wife and all I could think was: "Yeah, Marius would probably have about the same reaction if it was Lethica in danger 😅". I honestly think that if Lethica and Marius got together they'd be insufferable, like probably worse than Philip and Adela lovey-dovey type shit. Maybe a little more "refined" as they both seem the old fashion types, subtle flirting that gets super cheesy real quick. Marius: The morning greets you well today, my lady? Lethica: The morning always greets me well once I catch your gaze, my lord. Marius: No need to catch that which has never left you.
