Where are all my #LetterstoaPrescientist Penpals at!? First #snailmail arrived! Look at how beautiful my penpal’s handwriting is! Can’t wait to read their letter! ✉️ 📬🥳

Things have been crazy as I finish up work at ASU, so I’ve been looking forward to this block of time I set aside to read my first #LettersToAPreScientist pen pal letter of the year! It’s always a thrill to see stickers that align with your interests (food) and to get some surprises 😍

Update: I sent Vic back to my penpal with some new clothes and a "scrapbook" of adventures from his week of being a grad student.

Feel free to print yourself a copy of this scrapbook zine!

There’s nothing like getting a letter (and adorable stickers) from my Letters to a Pre-Scientist pen pal! ✏️✉️

She’s going to be a pulmonologist one day! 🩺🥼🫁

Received my 3rd letter from my pre-scientist pen pal! She used a microscope for the first time in class, and shared concerns about plastic in the ocean. So great to see these young minds engaged! I can’t wait to write back📝🧠

Well, that’s the training finished for this year’s #LettersToAPreScientist. Looking forward to seeing if I get matched up again.

Huge kudos to the team for providing training and resources for pen-pal safeguarding this year. Really valuable work!

It is that time of year again! LPS registration time! This is a great (and low time commitment) volunteer opportunity to engage 5th to 8th grade students and talk to them about STEM! All my students have been amazing 🤩 Register here: prescientist.org/register/ #LPS #letterstoaprescientist #outreach
