#LibraryFolk
The capacity of libraryfolk to pick exactly the wrong side of any technology question is impressive.

I'm not even sure libraryfolk who are in the "responsible use education" camp had to be led there by corporate incentives. (Though admittedly there is -definitely- not any unified perspective across our work.)
"It also offers a concrete example of how AI adoptionist perspectives that emphasize 'responsible' AI use are at times advanced by educational organizations as a result of financial incentives, and not because these products are actually better for student learning."

Colleague recently asked: how do we get AI skeptic librarians on board, since it's here & our values can mitigate?
I recall similar Qs about voracious expansion of data collection about our users; never saw any indication that libraryfolk presence mitigated anything.
Refusal is good, actually.

Libraryfolk do the lord's work. I didn't even know this was going on, but it would have seriously affected my reading. I mess w a lot of fringe horror stuff and I rely on ILL to keep me in grim bleakness.
