How dare the US try to impose their shortcomings on the UK. We have our own, but at least we can read what we want. #libraryfreedom #bannedbooks #reading
I’ve been campaigning to stop Birmingham’s libraries closing. One of the major issues is Bham council (they of the bins) want libraries to be run by local volunteers, not trained independent librarians. That is how you get censorship and takeovers by special interest groups.
We need to kick up hitherto unimaginable stink about this NOW. This country's a thousand miles from perfect but at least we had the good sense to kick out the puritans.

On June 3, I’m releasing a YA novel about ice, oil, water, wildlife, and youth activism.

In Alberta, I have to wonder whether it passes Bill 28’s Guardians of Approved Reading — or whether the readers’ names go in the margin too.

What can be done?

@flexlibris proposes:

1) broad political and technical solutions "total reimagining of how we allow data to be used"

2) we can also take small steps in the meantime to reduce harm.

THIS is what @libraryfreedom is
