In fairness, "linoleum" in 1939 was a completely different thing from the horrific sticky vinyl from the 60s and 70s. The linseed-based flooring originally sold as linoleum and now available as Marmoleum is quiet, cheap, warm, easy to clean. The patterns remain crime.

Dolly Parton has died age 80. One of Parton's many achievements was the Imagination Library, founded in 1995.

The initiative provides books to children to promote literacy, something which she had seen her father struggle with a lack of. The scheme will continue this important work.
