More odd family dynamics from Bernardino Licinio, 1524. Parents have been fighting over boy in red. Little girl in green isn't taking it any more.

Today's artist w/out a known birthday: Bernardino Licinio of Venice. Here, a man aged 55, looking slightly troubled despite his lovely missal, painted in 1524.

Wonderful portrait of a woman from the 1520s, possibly his sister-in-law & hence not super-blonde, by Bernardino Licinio. It's been his day today.

Hoy en el año 314 tuvo lugar la batalla de Cibalae entre Constantino y Licinio. Constantino venció a pesar de contar con menos soldados. Licinio, con más de 20.000 muertos entre sus soldados, terminó huyendo.

Definitely not your normal renaissance allegory. What's it all about? Suggestions welcome. Painted c. 1525 by Bernardino Licinio, whose day is today.

Uncharacteristically normal family by Bernardino Licinio: his painter-brother Arrigo, 1535. Two of the kids here also became artists. Hence the sanity!

A young man, also intensely into his clothing but alas no bi-color codpiece (as far as we know). Portrayed by Bernardino Licinio.

We are told that this is an allegory of Love, but I am finding no love here except possibly between the two men at the right. Bernardino Licinio, was that what you meant?
