Dragon Con, the largest pop culture convention, includes one of the largest blood drives in the U.S. with thousands giving blood over the Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. Every year, Dragon Con donors make a significant impact on a critically low blood supply due to summer blood shortages. Dragon Con attendees often wait in line for hours to give blood over the five-day event, and it has become a tradition for many. This year marks the 24th annual LifeSouth blood drive at the convention. LifeSouth provides blood to hospitals in the Atlanta area and more than 200 hospitals and emergency service organizations across Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
