LightDM 1.33.0 is out after four years, with new community maintainers and Qt 6 support. Qt 5 still works, and the update shouldn't break existing systems. Glad to see this lightweight Linux login manager getting attention again. 🐧

LightDM 1.33.0 is out after four years, with new community maintainers and Qt 6 support. Qt 5 still works, and the update shouldn't break existing systems. Glad to see this lightweight Linux login manager getting attention again. 🐧

останні години мав секс з лінуксом, бо відвалився lightdm, оскільки через те, що Nvidia дропнула підтримку моєї 1030, на компі була мішанина із пропрієтарних та опенсорсних драйверів. Крім цього, я вимкнув glycin для SVG, і це додало помилок.

Installed bazzite last night because lightdm decided to stop working completely randomly and I had been sitting on an installer USB anyhow, so no more arch. Anyways it went pretty smooth besides my browser font being this for a little while

So good news: It wasn't my fault, this never would've worked on my setup as-is and there's no way I could've figured out why, and maybe in a month or two I can switch to GDM and get rid of all the LightDM jank!

On my #RaspberryPi 500, if I disable the Desktop autologin, lightdm refuses to start (i.e. no desktop) and I have to start it manually from shell.
Any idea how to sort this out?
