A screen shot from Discord: "Watching Spirealm EP12 for fic research reasons and I NEVER FUCKING REALIZED that in this moment LDY puts a giant pause in the middle of his sentence in the most hiLARIOUS fucking way. Rujiao asks him right around 33:00 "Why are you being so nice to him, he's a dude?" (When LDY offers to air out his bedding) And he replies... "这我女朋友... " and then he trails off and the camera gives us a split second of this abjectly SHOCKED PAIR OF CLOWN FACES: [screen shot of Ruan Lanzhu and Ling Jiushi looking startled] and then LDY says, "...的哥哥." My Chinese is poor so it definitely took me til now (this is probably the fourth time I've watched this scene) to notice but it just made me lose my mind laughing and I wanted to share the moment of delight. I'd never processed that beat of silence before. and the subtitles do not do it justice. LOOK AT THEIR FACES"
