🚧 Sorry everyone, it appears we're currently under a DDOS attack and our host, Linode, put a networking restriction on our main web server, meaning it isn't publicly available. We've reached out to them for more information. Hope to have an update soon.

Linode has informed us that the attack is still ongoing against both our primary and backup server, so now we have a backup-backup server. Hopefully things resolve for good soon!

Running the pretty heavily traffic'd wiki.cavesofqud.com cost us a paltry $316.82 last year for a linode instance. You can just make your own wiki for shit.

My blog at antirez.com used to run well in a very old Linode instance. Now I dismissed Linode/DigitalOcean in favour of @Hetzner_Online and the page generation is now 5 milliseconds (I mean, local HTTP request to completion). No web framework + Redis performs well.

Linode since 2008 for me. I just finished moving everything but one tiny smarthost to the EU, and shut down my old Linode mailserver yesterday

kinda makes me wish i'd gotten around to that idea of network-enabled analog gauges and stuff. would be fun to have a speedometer; it'd probably be pegged.

Mine has 20 people in it and is thriving on a 1GB linode but it's very specific weird people and I do truly feel we caught lightning in a bottle and do not recommend your average gamer community try this.

i'll wait for linode to confirm that it's over, but for now it looks like they accomplished:
- about 3-4 days of meaningful downtime (current 1y uptime rate: 98.5% 💀)
- cloudflare accelleration
- upgrades to embeds
- most vpns unblocked
- wayback archiving fixed + automated
hope it was worth it
