the endgame of llms is just going to be a (pretty good) code autocomplete/bugcheck/linter that runs on your 5090, which is a pretty funny thing to spend like 9 trillion dollars on

The python linter “ruff”

Has a type checker named “red knot”

That’s 800 PRs “deep”

To the furry on the astral development team: 🫡
We’re building a new static type checker for Python, from scratch, in Rust.

From a technical perspective, it’s probably our most ambitious project yet. We’re about 800 PRs deep!

Continuing with the Herb Linter. The Linter is going to be directly integrated into the Herb Language Server to show the linter warning and errors directly in your editor as you type.

It also ships with a `herb-lint` CLI so you can run the linter manually or in CI.

Interesting new (?) feature in Claude Code - distinguishing which changes were added manually. No more "it looks like the linter made some changes in the background, let me revert them"
