Lisnavagh, County Carlow, in the 1950s its owners decided on an alternative option to selling or demolishment, they downsized it, the once much larger house now a smaller family home. The walled garden has also been repurposed as a swimming pool garden. theirishaesthete.com/2026/01/19/l...

RDJ is proud to be among Ireland’s first 100 B Corps and honoured to receive this beautiful plaque from Broadlake, celebrating this milestone.

Crafted from sustainably sourced Irish hardwood from Lisnavagh, Co. Carlow, the plaque is a symbol of our shared commitment to responsible business.

I made a camera from one of two (spalted) beeches that came down in storm Ophelia on the Bunbury estate at Lisnavagh. William Bunbury, brother of the historian, mills their fallen trees.
These two beeches were documented as being planted during the Famine. I think they were called the Two Sisters.

I found some. The camera is in West Cork and I'm in the Hague at the moment so it's the best I can do. The ground glass frame is in ash, also from a few boards from Lisnavagh. The lens, a very early landscape lens by Grubb of Dublin, was made in the 1850s

Carlow is making history with Ireland’s very first vegan music festival! Taking place this weekend at Lisnavagh House & Gardens, it’s a three-day celebration of plant-based living.

Whether you’re vegan or simply keen to soak up good vibes, this is the festival to be at!

Lisnavagh House, County Carlow, one of the largest houses in Ireland before its owner orchestrated a major reduction in the 1950s. I'd always assumed it was a 20thc mock Mock Tudor build, and it a way it is, modernised by downsizing. #SpéirGhorm
