This is quite funny. “I was walking down the King’s Road, and I bumped into Gary Kemp. And then, 200 yards further on, there was Sting.” #LiveAidAt40

Please always remember that everyone working on #LiveAid was a volunteer (even if some felt their arms were twisted a bit by Bob’s absolute commitment) and Bob made every effort to ensure that the money they raised would go to feeding starving people. #LiveAidAt40

My friends please share my #LiveAidAt40 hashtag and all the goodies I posted. Heaven knows we need a little celebration, even as Sir Bob contemplates FOTUS’ destruction of everything he worked for. @alexsavedtheday.bsky.social @ltuhura.bsky.social

40 years ago today, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure (and a ton of other people) made musical history with the sole aim of feeding people who were starving. Well done, Sir Bob! #LiveAidAt40 #LiveAid
Please enjoy the various videos I have shared today, and know that it’s still possible to do good.

#LiveAidAt40 Fun fact: Sir Bob Geldof’s paternal grandmother was Jewish, which by matrilinearity makes his father Jewish, which doesn’t make him Jewish unless you hold by patrilinear descent (which I don’t, but you 100% do not want to know the thought that crept unbidden into my mind just now).

And it was a wicked hot day in London, and Bob’s back was giving him trouble. So just before the Rats’ set, he ran into David Bowie backstage, and David gave him a backrub. Now watch Bob make his entrance moments later: #LiveAidAt40 youtu.be/FcZW0GFLSdw?...
