At least in California, you have to go through Livescan fingerprinting and have a Social Security number just to volunteer.

So! You can volunteer w/o having an enrolled kid, and reach out to your council to see where they need help. They do require LiveScan and background checks for safety, but a lot of councils need more volunteers and will waive the associated fees

To be an EMT in California, you have to do a Livescan fingerprinting and background check. My understanding is that the expungement would show up in the report, but you would still "pass" for the purposes of getting a license

When I was a substitute teacher it wasn't really a problem. One person asked, I just said "for my privacy," and since I passed the livescan we moved on.

Got fingerprints done again!! Drove 4 hours to get a livescan so I didn't have to worry about the ink making me sick again. Got the girls redone, too, and passport pictures for all 4 of us. One step closer to trying to get over the north border to start a new life. 🥰

Time is moving quickly. Livescan for my fellowship this week. SAASC planning. SRJ work starting back up. Candidacy petition. 4 weeks left in summer session, 6 weeks til fall semester starts. After my 2 classes in fall, only got a 2unit class + ePortfolio left for spring. Commencement in May!! Omg.

The only remaining thing was that she wanted me to select whether I get paid over 10 or 12 months today, and I said I'd decide when I get my placement.

Thank you! I'm so glad. And the best part is I'm already part of their school network for approved behavioral therapy contractors, so all I need to do is submit a livescan since it's a new school year, and it's almost 6 months since the last one. Would've been cutting it too close to my start date
