If alt-text is disabled on a YouTube video (why would they do that?!!l), and you have Android, you can split your screen and open video in one side and use Live Transcribe app in the other for running captions.
There is also LiveTranscribe app in apple store.

As a hearing handicapped person, a couple tricks: I have Samsung Visual Voicemail setup so any voice mails get transcribed and emailed to me, and if I notice a call coming in, I can tell it to do the Google screening thing that asks what the call is about, and LiveTranscribe renders it as text.

Advice from fellow deafies: what recording app with words typed on screen do you use? LiveTranscribe is good but only keeps the last 10 mins! 🤔
