An investigation has been launched after a member of the public discovered the body of a newborn infant on the shoreline of the Menai Strait in north Wales on Sunday evening. North Wales Police were contacted shortly before 5pm regarding the discovery near Siliwen Road in Bangor. Authorities are working collaboratively with partners from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to determine the circumstances surrounding the infant's death. Extensive search efforts are underway to locate the mother, whose identity remains unknown. ### Officials from both the police force and health service have issued urgent public appeals for the mother to come forward. They describe her as likely to be in an extremely vulnerable state and requiring immediate medical attention and support.
