Test Drive
A #C64 driving sim that garners half 'n' half positive and negative reviews. There is no doubting that the presentation isn't top notch - it really is, but the actual "driving", is very slow and very difficult - mainly changing gears with one joystick (also the accelerator).

The Rats
'Tis Halloween and thus! I love horror / scary literature - Stephen King and James Herbert were my teenage washpots and I still love them to this day. I am now interested to see which of their novels made it to the #C64. I know this did, as I have played it before. The book >

Granny's Garden
No way?!?!? YES WAY! Well, Ermentrudes and Sherman Doods, until today I did NOT know that there was a version of Childhood Nightmare Fuel Favourite "Granny's Garden" on the #C64. But there is. I just played my first go and made the mistake of taking the red broom. >

Montezuma's Revenge
A #ParkerBrothers game for the #C64 way back in 1984. The UK market finally got the game two years later via Databyte and I never played it, thinking it looked shit. It does look shit. It looks like an Atari 2600 game. The C64 is better than this. But: it is brill.

Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
A #C64 game, as I may have just alluded to in another post, that I have never played. I know it, of course I do, but I have never fully geared up the gumption to invest the time to play it. I know I must. I surely must and I will. I surely will.

Snare
One of the last remaining THALAMUS #C64 releases to feature in an LL64 and just look at that title screen. No expense spared. There is also no loading screen at all. But, there is a really nice M. Walker title SID. All in all, this is a really nice and polished puzzle shooter.

Hunter's Moon
At precisely 04:12 this morning the 2026 Hunter's Moon was at its most visible, I clocked it about 6 hours earlier and it was a clear star-strewn sky and the moon was like an immesurably huge spotlight. It was fascinating to witness. The #C64 game of the same name is ace.

Countdown to Meltdown
Released in the US as "Showdown" at the end - this is another early Activision #C64 game and another, I have never seen, or played. Having just spent 15mins playing it - there is something in there. I just wish I knew what. Lovely characters and premise. No clue.

Pastfinder
@davidlubar.bsky.social I salute you! o7
We are in a little "Activision Rabbit Hole" at Fripville this Autumn and here is one of my all time favourite #C64 games of FOREVER. Seriously, just, look. I mean... If you have never played this game - do it now. GET TO THE LANDER!

Park Patrol
A favourite #C64 game of mine and 100% in my top 50 games on the computer. If you have never played this - you need to play it this weekend, if not today. It is just one of the best arcade games available. So many lovely details. So much fun. Nostalgia Overload.

GeeBee Air Rally
Well, I am sure almost all UK Readers will be scratching their heads at this 1987 #C64 release, as much as I am. Never. Piggin'. Yeard of it. OutRun in the air with a bit of Aliens (US) dropship landing. I mean... It wasn't awful, but, it was a bit ropey. Packaged well.

Hacker
Dateline: 1985 and Activision are giving us a strange mix of text adventure and arcade adventure for the #C64. I don't really recall playing the original, but the sequel Hacker II was always in and out of the tape deck. This has a rather cute intro and then the game, well...

Bubble Bobble
It is my birthday today, so I looked back through my EXCEL SPREADSHEET and noticed I hadn't actually LL64'd the original BB for the #C64. Also, because it is today, I wanted to focus on my favourite game of all time and it is: Bubble Bobble. This is a sublime conversion. ❤️

Paradroid
Almost 2 years of LL64s and no Paradroid..?!?!? What drugs am *I* smoking? Classic #C64 games don't get much more classic than this. One of my top 10 computer games of all time and it still holds up today as a gem of a gaming experience. It ain't easy. But it is so, so good.

Alleykat
I always thought (with my limited attention to it BITD) that this was a pretty average schmup / racer for the #C64, but, as with Morpheus - I wasn't giving the game the time it deserves. There are tactics here, many neat touches and gaming innovations. It's a real pleasure.

Match Day II
Okay. So, I have never played this #C64 football game and after booting it up, I am thinking - wait, am I playing Head Over Heels..? The menu system is exactly the same. That is just odd. I get into a match and wow. What is even going on here..? I'm really not sure... 😂

Combat School
Known in the US as "Boot School" think of this as "Military Hypersports" for the #C64. And what is that Galway title SID - totally brilliant. This is a cracking game that I always assumed was absolute pony on a stick. Cannae wait to get ol' @fuzzweed.co.uk over to play it!

Gryzor
Contra was never my bag BITD, but I know a lot of people liked it. This #C64 conversion of the European "Gryzor" is pretty ropey. Play Midnight Resistence - it is much better. No 2-PLY, awful graphics, a repetitive SID and a difficulty level so ridiculous it is laughable. Nope.

Vendetta
I had #C64 Vendetta on a System 3 compilation that bizarrely I am no longer in possession of, but no matter. In fact, I think I also had it on those small boxed cassette games that Turrican and Creatures originally came in. This game is good. But it makes it >>>

Alien Syndrome
This Dude's massive eyes glow at you at the beginning, remember! #C64 arcade action never been so good! Despite a few annoyances, AS remains a thoroughly decent arcade conversion to this day. It is WELL worth a play. And it is 2-PLY Co-Op! Really very very good.

Misson A.D.
Indeed, I *had* not played this #C64 (albeit: SID) Classic until this morning and it is a perfectly lovely mid-80s Run 'n' Gun game, with some neat elevator action (!) and map-changing mechanics. But, just doing this and trying to limit energy-depletion all game is not fun.

Exterminator
Dateline 1991 and the #C64 is in its prime, slapping out amazing games, retail carts, the C64GS (ahem!) and new magazines hitting the shelves of WHSmith. This is a pretty cool game, it looks great, plays well and there is a lot going on. If only the controls were easier...
