This is so frustrating. 2017 #LoisachGroup tried to warn Europeans of growing American skepticism about #NATO and not to treat DJT as a one-off. Biden election was treated not as reprieve but as happy days are here again.
During the 1990/91 Gulf War, Germany spent 0.6% of its GDP supporting the international alliance under US leadership !
So 0.1% now for a war in Europe vs 0.6% the for a war in the Gulf.

This is so frustrating. 2017 #LoisachGroup tried to warn Europeans of growing American skepticism about #NATO and not to treat DJT as a one-off. Biden election was treated not as reprieve but as happy days are here again.
My personal assessment: the worry that gripped that 2017 #LoisachGroup meeting lost urgency after January 2021, and only regained potency after Putin restarted major Russian operations in Ukraine. Shock absorbers not in place if change in 1600 Penn management come 1/25. 9/
