On Petrovsky Boulevard, reality challenged itself to a duel. The Stringer and Lomografik — two mirrors, two flashes of light. The halo isn’t a lens flaw but proof that the city photographs itself. Each ray is a nerve, each frame a diagnosis. For a moment, Moscow became the camera, and man — its film. This unknown thing was very small, yet it bit fiercely with silver halide film. Suddenly, Lomografik walked up and performed a resounding "click." The stringer also performed a "click," though slightly to the left of his armpit. The sun, exhausted from watching such photographic geometry, curled itself into a glowing bagel and settled directly onto the stringer’s shoulders. The fair buzzed, gingerbread was sold, and two humans temporarily turned into glass elements, refracting 2007 straight into 2017. “A ring flare is not an optical flaw; it is the only honest border between the one pulling the trigger and the one caught on the other side of the shutter.”
