At the July 22 Long Branch workshop Administrator Shirley said the county issued a Coastal Area Facilities review (CAFR) individual permit for a 10-foot ADA-accessible walkway at 7 Presidents Park that will connect the city promenade to USO Beach; the project includes fencing and landscaping and raised questions about beach access and nearby bird sanctuary protections.

Long Branch councilors heard a presentation July 8 from Michael Reiser of Artheon on a Monmouth County Open Space grant application to reconstruct the playground and repair a leaking roof at Manhasset Creek Park; the estimated project cost is $757,000, with the county grant covering up to $500,000 and the city expected to provide the $257,000 remainder if awarded.
