Last time I was longshoring I shared with the gang I was working with the fact that the IOF has a cum extraction unit and they were like No way that's real.

Without fail, about three hours or so after a longshoring shift as a boomcat (raw log or timber loader) my nose will completely plug up and my sinus will freak out.
I'd say that's worth 50+ an hour though.

The replacement head unit to the replacement head unit might have had it's CD drive fail on the drive back from longshoring in Victoria.

While I was doing the janitor rounds during my longshoring shift last night, this car showed up in one of the adjacent parking lots just to hang out.
A Nissan Gloria Gran Turismo, with a couple dudes out for a cruise and maybe some photos of Nissan's answer to the Toyota Crown. Very cool.

While I was doing the janitor rounds during my longshoring shift last night, this car showed up in one of the adjacent parking lots just to hang out.

Yes .. this was many years ago, in my younger years, (1970), I used to go to a place with a somewhat similar view while my boyfriend was off longshoring. Think it was along the Indian Arm from Belcarra Park 🕊️

The weather is having a fun time on Vancouver Island today. Bowling shoe ugly rainstorm in Chemainus and up north, and actually kinda ok once you clear the dense fog on the Malahat.
Got a longshoring shift and dressed in layers expecting more of the rain, but it's not bad here at Ogden Point.

Ultimately it's not a big deal since the money spent was longshoring money which I just treat as disposable income at this point. Annoying as shit though, but I am ready if the CPU fan does fail for good.

And it's hella sketchy for us loading the logs onto the boat. It's the most dangerous longshoring job done here on the coast.
Would rather do pulp/paper/lumber any day of the week just for that alone, before getting into the added jobs in mills that creates in local towns.

I really wish karma would catch up to her some day. They talk big about automation but that technology in farming has a long way to go. Whereas automation that exists in longshoring was outright rejected by the dock workers union.
