I love how cool ancient Burmese noble clothings look, so borrowed some aspects of them onto him like the mantle and waist cloth thing. They are so spiky! Most men in Myanmar wear a waist wrap called longyi, so I gave him that too. I really like how he turned out!

In Burmese culture, we don’t tend to differentiate certain generations, so although technically he was the little brother of my grandmother, A Po Nyi was still my grandfather (A Po) and I was still his granddaughter (myay), and he was the only great-grandfather my children ever knew.

pulled out an old longyi because i've run out of pants to wear around the house and realised it might actually be my favourite loungewear. nothing rubberised so nothing feels tight, the skin isn't over-stimulated, and it's warm. instant comfort
