I didn’t see them, but a couple of Loons were letting out some warning cries. A rooster gets in on the action at the end.

A Common Loon sitting on a nest in the reeds, right off the water. Their legs are placed so far back on their bodies they are unable to walk on land, like other water fowl. They are super fast swimmers, though - reaching speeds of up to 20 mph.

Also, a little trivia - MN adopted the Common Loon as the state bird in 1961.
