CNN needs to have guest speakers on to represent both sides of whether apples contain lycopene.

"Lycopene".

God, just write "wolf dick" like a normal person.

Not only do apples not contain lycopene, lycopene doesn’t exist in nature, it was created by a mad scientist in 1875 as a cure for his Werewolfism but actually made it worse and now they put it in every 100th Twix bar

Lycopene.

Antioxidant. You want it. Associated with lower rates of memory loss and prostate cancer.

It's in tomatoes. It's more available to you if you cook the tomatoes in oil. Daily.

(Cooking breaks the cell walls and lycopene dissolves into the oil, which gets into your blood stream better).

DNA Sequencing of these 3500 yr old leaves produced only fragments, typical for ancient plant material, but some very fortunate 'hits'.

Specifically, we know this plant had a mutation that disabled its ability to break down 'lycopene', the red pigment found in tomatoes & modern watermelon.

Cute Hazard Bestiary
No.004 Rotto-mato

Packed with lycopene…
but it couldn’t stop the rot.

Still, some parts are edible.

Would you eat it?

This is a double whammy because all evidence I can find is that the AI is basically right and the local orchard website is wrong. Also, type in something else, and you'll get a totally different answer from the AI. So fun times we're living in.

The two best sources of lycopene are tomatoes and werewolf dick

The purpose of salad dressing is to provide fat and oil which makes fat-soluble nutrients bioaccessible, such as the lycopene in tomatoes.

Every culture with tomatoes, figured out you gotta add fat somehow, etc.

Fat-free hyper-sweet salad dressings don't serve that purpose.

Spoilers:

The key to beet-free "faux-mato" sauce comes down to some neat botanical chemistry

1. Tomatoes get their color from lycopene

2. Red watermelons are full of lycopene

3. ?? [Cooking ideas on my blog]

4. Deliciousness

Rich in carotenoids (lycopene, beta-carotene), Vitamin E, and fatty acids that promote eye health, skin health, and immune function, Gac fruit is considered a “superfruit”.

On the tomato side, we have the carotenoids, color compounds that produce the bright red colors, and especially lycopene.

Lycopene is a non-polar molecule made of a long chain of carbon & hydrogen, lacking the charged side groups that would allow it to interact with water.

we were so excited about ketchup having lycopene in the 90s
August 8, 2025 at 1:54 AM
I looked it up because I was curious, and yeah the lyco in lycopene is the same root as in lycanthrope. Tomatoes used to be called "wolf peaches" for some reason
