After hours of public testimony raising groundwater, noise, traffic and tribal‑consultation concerns, the Lyon County Planning Commission voted 4–3 on July 14 to forward a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners to approve the Monarch Data Center planned unit development. Staff and the applicant said multiple state and federal permits and mitigation steps remain.
