Fun fact of the day: Did you know that our entire national population can fit into less than 4 MCGs? In fact, if we were allowed to use the field as well as the stands, our whole nation could be squeezed into one MCG. Our largest sports stadium, Laugardalsvöllur, currently holds 9,800 spectators.

After my patient today my coworker and I looked up bovine thyroid on this database we have at OSU and apparently a woman received a “bad batch” of bovine thyroid hormone and got something like 72,000 mcgs of t3 and 60,000 mcgs of t4 and developed severe thyrotoxicosis requiring plasmapheresis 🙃
